KRAVITZ Delicatessen

Opened in 1939 by Youngstown's first Ladypreneur Rose Kravitz as a way to meet the specialty food needs of the Youngstown Ohio Jewish Community, Kravitz Deli sold in 2022 to Matthew Rydarowicz. The new young owner is embracing National Deli Month as a chance to showcase the business' wide breadth of the traditional deli offerings - the meats, cheeses, bakery and party trays and especially pastrami.

To remind customers of this tasty option, pastrami and turkey pastrami will be on sale all month for $19.99/lb (regularly $21.99/lb). For his charitable selection, Rydarowicz is donating $1 from every pound of deli meats, salads and Northside Pastrami Reubens or Piled High Fries to the Mahoning Valley Fatherhood Coalition. In addition, any customer that adds their own donation to the cause will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Deli/Bakery gift certificate so they can enjoy some deli goodness once again.

Rydarowicz chose this charity because fatherhood changed his life. “I grew up without my father in my life every day, so when I found I was going to have a child I decided I was going to do things differently,” he said, noting his five-year-old son Kameron is the inspiration for his success. “I made serious changes and tough choices with my son in mind. I hope that this fundraiser can help others make similar decisions leading to better family success.”
